Board-Certified Dermatologist and Mohs Surgeon
Dr. Pennie is a Board-Certified and fellowship-trained Dermatologist who specializes in the Mohs Micrographic Surgery treatment of skin cancer and all aspects of general medical dermatology.
As the founder of Sarasota-based Paradise Dermatology, Dr. Pennie’s compassionate nature can be seen in her patient care and throughout the entire practice.
Dr. Pennie is one of only a handful of dermatologists on the West Coast of Florida who is Board-Certified and fellowship-trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery. This procedure is the most effective and precise treatment for most types of skin cancer.
Dr. Pennie earned her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College before completing medical school and residency at Emory University. Her year-long fellowship training with Dr. Georga Hruza at The Laser and Dermatologic Surgery Center in Chesterfield, Missouri is where she performed hundreds of Mohs Micrographic Surgery procedures and advanced reconstructions.
Dr. Pennie has also served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, teaching medical students and residents Mohs surgery and advanced reconstruction techniques. Dr. Pennie is also an active member of many national medical societies including:

Dr. Pennie is originally from Portland, Oregon though she is now a proud Sarasota resident. She keeps busy with her twin boys, Christopher and Thomas, with travel, fitness, and outdoor sports.
