Downtime after CoolPeel® is minimal, however, more downtime is required after Tetra Peel due to the fact that Tetra Peel is deeper. After both CoolPeel® and Tetra Peel, patients will be red, similar to the look and feel of a sunburn. Your skin may even be a little scaly, and that’s normal as well. Redness and scaliness are longer-lasting with Tetra Peel, and Tetra Peel requires more aftercare and recovery.
It’s important in these couple days after treatment that you keep your skin hydrated. Our providers can advise you on what moisturizers or skin care products are safe to use right after treatment.
Results can last for several years if proper skin care is performed, including regular use of SPF!
It’s important that leading up to a CO2 laser treatment, you refrain from using retinols and glycolic and salicylic acids as well as avoid sun exposure. There is no anesthesia, but numbing cream may be used for the patient’s comfort.
A CO2 laser treatment on the face can take 10-20 minutes on average. Depending on your goals and desired results, a series of treatments may be recommended.
