      Board Certified Dermatologist, Fellowship Trained Mohs Surgeon
      Dr. Michelle Pennie is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs Micrographic surgeon. She completed her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College, medical school and residency at Emory University and fellowship training with Dr. George Hruza at The Laser & Dermatologic Surgery Center in Chesterfield, Missouri.

      Exceptionally Qualified

      Dr. Pennie is one of only a handful of dermatologists on the West Coast of Florida who is fellowship trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, the most effective and precise treatment for most types of skin cancer. During her year-long fellowship training she performed hundreds of Mohs surgery procedures and advanced reconstructions.


      Dr. Pennie has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, teaching medical student and residents Mohs Micrographic surgery and advanced reconstruction techniques. Dr. Pennie is an active member of many national medical societies including:

      American Academy of Dermatology
      American College of Mohs Surgery
      American Academy of Dermatologic Surgeons


      In addition to her technical abilities and substantial experience, Dr. Pennie values her patients’ comfort and trust throughout their experience at Paradise Dermatology.

      • Dr. Pennie takes the time to listen to her patients and address questions that arise.
      • Dr. Pennie takes the time before procedures such as Mohs surgery to explain how and why the procedure is performed. She strives to ensure her patients feel comfortable and confident they made the right decision.

      Dr. Pennie is originally from Portland, Oregon. She keeps busy with her twin boys, Christopher and Thomas, with travel, fitness and outdoor sports.

    Board Certified Physician Assistant

    Jennifer is a board-certified physician assistant with more than ten years of experience in dermatology. She grew up in Michigan and obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, and received her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Florida in 2003. Jennifer is an active member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

    Jennifer resides in Sarasota with her husband Josh, who is a neurosurgical Physician Assistant. They are parents to three wonderful little girls, including a set of identical twins. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, cheering on the Florida Gators and traveling.

    Board Certified Physician Assistant

    Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Megan obtained her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida State University. During her undergraduate studies Megan began her medical career in the specialty of Dermatology. She completed her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies with honors at Nova Southeastern University. Megan completed her clinical year with a variety of rotations in Miami Beach and St. Petersburg, specializing in all aspects of dermatology.

    Megan is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. In 2013 Megan was inducted into the Pi Alpha National Honors Society.

    When not providing care for her patients, Megan enjoys volunteering in her local community, fitness and spending time with her family and friends.

    Board Certified Physician Assistant

    Carolyn Meese is a board-certified physician assistant. She received her Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences at the University of Miami. She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham for her physician assistant training. UAB not only provides general physician assistant training, but also specializes in the training of surgical physician assistants. Carolyn was awarded the Outstanding Physician Assistant Graduate Student and Margaret K. Kirkland Award for Scholastic Achievement.

    She found her passion for dermatology and cutaneous oncology surgery during her clinical dermatology rotation. Carolyn has practiced alongside a fellowship trained Mohs surgeon since 2013 and has a passion for surgical dermatology as well as general dermatology.

    Carolyn is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants. Carolyn is originally from Ormond Beach, FL. She currently resides in Sarasota, FL and enjoys spending her free time with her family, friends, traveling and running.

  • Lily mugLILY VOLPERT

    Lily is a licensed aesthetician specializing in advanced facial treatments. Originally from Miami, she began her career as a makeup artist working for cosmetic lines Prescriptives, Chanel and Bobbi Brown. In 2008, she received aesthetic training at the Florida College of Natural Health.

    At Paradise Dermatology, Lily offers a wide range of targeted services from advanced treatments for different skin conditions to relaxing facials that boost skin health and radiance. Her belief is that healthy skin feels, looks and functions best, allowing a client’s true inner beauty to shine through. When she is not passionately practicing skincare, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her two favorites, sons Jesse and Meyer.
